Before Timo Van Luijk (Noise-Maker's Fifes, Af Ursin, In Camera, Onde, Asra, ...) started his own private record label La Scie Dorée, he had another record label called Monolisa. The only record released on this label were these Lost And Found Adventures of Razoul Üzlü. The LP was released in 2000, as a limited edition of 500 copies. Originally it was released in 1992 on cassette as a private release.Razoul Üzlü is an alter ego of Raymond Dijkstra. Dijkstra who - besides being a sculptor, painter and graphic designer - is known for his musique concrète and electro-acoustique compositions. As Razoul Üzlü he uses all sorts of instruments (synthesizer, guitar, organ, found objects, ...) and uses them to create a truly fascinating sound universe. At some points it's very organic and rather psychedelic, other parts of the album sound very minimal and build around one (organ) drone or you might think you've ended up in the soundtrack of an old fashioned science fiction movie dating from the 1950's. It even may appeal to young children at some point because parts of the album sound as if they come from these old kids toys that could produce sound, but only one or two tones at a time and the result was very fascinating for young children but rather annoying for adults.
In any case, this beautiful LP should not be missed by anyone who likes adventurous music.
